An intense restyling and a new design of mise en place characterizes the starred restaurant of chef Pietro D’Agostino today: solid oak tables worked by expert craftsman, inserts of maioliche ceramic from Scicli, and warm, retro-flavored lights that illuminate the natural blue and white framework into which Capinera was born. The philosophy however rests unchanged: a beloved encounter between creativity and innovation, memory and territory. Vivid yet essential dishes, rich in tradition but modern in presentation, designed and desired with respect to the seasons of earth and sea.

Over a thousand labels, mostly Sicilian

With the same care dedicated to the dishes, chef Pietro D'Agostino updates the restaurant's wine list, which now includes over a thousand labels, mostly Sicilian from small producers.

Pietro D’Agostino, born in 1972, is the owner of the restaurant La Capinera, in Taormina.
A Michelin star for 16 years, he looks out from his terrace at the sea of ​​Spisone, still a source of inspiration in the kitchen; the same sea, which, as a child, made him dream of going far away. And he has really traveled and known the world.
In 2008 he received the prestigious Michelin star recognition, is a member of the JRE association, young European chefs, and a national member of the CHARMING ITALIAN CHEF association.
For years he has been carrying out his educational Cooking Lab workshops, dedicated cooking lessons and classrooms for children, for an education in sensory perception and tasting of flavors, in the knowledge of the goodness of a healthy nutritional style.
