Pietro D'Agostino

La Capinera
Taormina (ME)

Pietro D’Agostino, born in 1972, is the owner of the restaurant La Capinera, in Taormina.
A Michelin star for 16 years, he looks out over the sea of Spisone from his terrace, still a source of inspiration in his cooking; the same sea that, as a child, made him dream of going far away.
And he has really traveled and gotten to know the world. After attending the culinary academy in Messina, he flew to London at 21, and the doors of Hyde Park immediately opened for him. Not even two years later he opened the restaurant at the Grand Hotel Costa Esmeralda in Costa Rica. At 24, called to the Dorchester in the British capital, he created a very refined banquet for the Sultan of Brunei. At 26, he embarked on the Disney Cruise Line (Walt Disney World Group) in Florida. Back in Italy at 28, he was the Executive Chef of the Torpedo restaurant at the Hotel Le Meridien Lingotto in Turin, cooking with his brigade for the Juventus players and staff. At 30, he was chosen to lead a brigade of 22 chefs at the Il Gattopardo restaurant at the Gr
and Hotel Mazzarò Sea Palace in Taormina, a renowned five-star luxury hotel in the Pearl of the Ionian Sea. But it was at 31 that D’Agostino fulfilled his dream: opening his own restaurant, La Capinera, right in Taormina. A place of the heart and soul, where he can express the experience gained over the years, combining talent with intelligent and innovative creativity. In 2008 he received the prestigious Michelin star recognition, is a member of the JRE association, young European chefs, and a national member of the CHARMING ITALIAN CHEF association.
